I have an "upgraded" VFC Avalon for sale. The gun was “professionally” built by me. I have been doing Airsoft tech work for 10+ years. It can be risky buying something someone “worked on” off the internet. It is usually a nightmare that is more trouble than it is worth, overpriced, or not functioning correctly. This is not the case here. The gun performs great for being a 1 Joule DSG. The build as around 30K cycles in its current configuration. The piston has been lightened and is less than 20 grams. Tappet timing is correct and there is no loss of FPS in full auto, and it feeds perfectly in full auto. No mid-cap syndrome, even with the PTS EPM1 magazines. The Maxx hop unit has the Airtech Studios TDC trolley and M-nub along with the MrHop rubber and Action Army barrel, which has the correct window to match the Hop rubber patch. A consistent FPS (1 Joule) allows this AEG to have good groupings in CQB range, which is what this AEG was built for. Shimming is perfect and the gearbox has been opened multiple times to verify there is no unusual wear on the gears. AOE position has been inspected when opening the gearbox back up. The EZO bearings have been re-packed regularly with MolyKote33 and there is a FLT bushing under the spur gear. No wear on the ARL and the spring is in good shape. The Guarder SP150 is new and was replaced around 1k cycles ago. The Lonex piston head o-ring was also replaced. Gearbox was re-greased at the same time as the last inspection.

The Maxx adjustable trigger has been set to my liking as a hair trigger, but can be adjusted along with the settings in the Gate firmware. The gun comes with a Gate Titan with Expert firmware and the Blu-Link dongle. This allows you to change settings with the GCS app on your phone. The current settings seem to be perfect as is, but you can play around with them as needed/wanted. Binary mode is ridiculously good if your field allows it. The motor brushes still have plenty of life left. The build is pretty efficient for what it is and does not generate much heat, even when spamming semi/binary. Keep in mind that it is still a low ratio DSG, so it is not as efficient as a SSG M120 build. It requires a bigger lipo battery, hence the stock I have installed. It easily fits a 2200mah brick style 11.1v lipo. I carry two lipos to the field and it lasts all day. The 2200mah brick lipos can be bought on Amazon in two packs for less than $30. I do recommend just buying decent lipos though.

As far as external goes, the gun is solid and set up perfectly for my style of play. Some of the external parts started fade as the OEM paint started to chip away. I painted the selector switches, outer barrel, mag-release, mock bolt catch release, and charging handle lock. I used KG-GunKote, which is basically like CeraKote, but better. You can see in the photos which small parts were painted. It is way better than the factory paint ever was and won’t chip away. The stock orange flash hider was stripped and painted black as well. The motor grip was hand stippled by me, and has been fitted to the lower receiver/gearbox for perfect alignment. No ugly gaps like you see on a lot of builds out there. It is important that your motor grip sits flush to the gearbox shell for pinion/bevel alignment. Sometimes the lower receiver prevents the grip from sitting flush, so people shave the grip to counter this issue. A lot of times people remove too much material from the grip leaving an ugly gap. Not the case on this build.

C-more is my favorite red dot sight, so I got a clone for this build. The flip up sights actual co witness with the C-more replica perfectly, incidentally. The PTS QD sling point works perfectly with the bungee sling included. The Surefire clone flashlight and 45 degree mount with pressure pad are positioned perfectly along with the fore grip. It feels very natural using the light while holding the AEG in combat. It all comes with a soft gun bag and four EPM1 Mid-Caps magazines. After looking up the prices of all the included parts, it seems I have around $1600 into this build. I’m thinking I have closer to $1800 into it
